Internet Journalism

What is Internet Journalism ?

Newspapers have a geographical boundary, but you can get news from the internet in the blink of an eye !   The media world consists of a wide variety of agencies and organisations which are involved in media related activities. At its core are the mass media organisations and the users of mass media. The first category consists of (i) the print media (newspapers and magazines), (ii) the electronic media (radio and television channels), and (iii) the news agencies. The electronic media now includes the World Wide Web (WWW) which hosts Internet versions of most of the well-known newspapers and news magazines and is also emerging as a potential advertisement medium.  The online news medium is noted for its speed and catchment area – for example, a breaking news appears fastest on the internet and is capable of being spread all over the world, in a matter of seconds and clicks.

Other significant tools of on-line journalism are Internet forums, discussion boards and chats, especially those representing the Internet version of official media.
