Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA)
The Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) of India has introduced fifteen percent supernumerary seats in Technical and Higher Educational Institutions in India,
exclusively for admission of Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin.
Ed.CIL has been authorised by MHRD for placement of foreign students in Indian Institutions for higher studies and is the “Single Window Coordinating Agency” for the placement of foreign students to all National Institutes of technology (Formerly Regional Engineering Colleges) and other centrally funded institutions covered under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme.
The criteria for admission to premier Technical Institutions covered under DASA
Scheme now require only sixty percent aggregate marks in all the subjects of qualifying examination equivalent to Senior Secondary Examination in India and annual tuition fee is only US$4000. The admission to courses in various other institutions is offered by Ed.CIL at a fee ranging between US$1000-4000 per annum.
