What is meant by Artificial Intelligence?

In simple words, Artificial Intelligence can be defined as the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks that are commonly associated with intelligent beings.

It is basically a field that combines computer science and robust datasets to enable problem-solving. AI is often used interchangeably with its subfields, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, however they are not the same, though closely related.

Career Paths in Artificial Intelligence

1. Big Data Analyst

The role of a Big Data Analyst is to find meaningful patterns in data by looking at the past and making predictions about the future. A Data Analyst should be familiar with a variety of tools and programming languages and must possess Data mining and Data auditing skills.

2. Research Scientist

A research scientist is an expert in applied mathematics, machine learning, deep learning, and computational statistics and conducts lab-based trials and experiments. They are expected to have an advanced degree in Computer Science or an advanced degree in a related field.

3. Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

The primary role of Business Intelligence Developers is to employ data analytics and technology to recognise different business and market trends. They also create and maintain company software tools used to guide business strategies. BI Developer is one of the fastest growing roles as almost every company with data needs at least one person who understands Business Intelligence.

4. Robotics Engineer

With the emergence of robotics in the field of AI, there will be an incessant demand for Robotics Engineers by major industries for programming their machines. They are in charge of creating constructing, and testing robots or robotics systems that carry out tasks that people are either unable to accomplish or would prefer not to.

5. Software Engineer

A software engineer is the one who is responsible for developing programs in which AI tools functions. They need to have extensive knowledge of programming languages, software development, and computer operating systems. They apply their engineering principles to creating software.

Although a job in artificial intelligence offers a vast range of potential applications and tremendous growth opportunities, it is also a highly competitive market.
